WEEK 23- March 23rd, 2012

What a week, week 23 has been. Our little pomegranate has become an active little one. The bigger Baby Stone gets, the easier it is for mommy to pick up on the sleeping pattern. It looks like we will not be getting much sleep in the middle of the night (Melissa and I can get some good telephone time in, right?). Unfortunately, baby is not all that active when mommy and daddy are in the same area. Although, since mommy has been experiencing some pretty severe edema of the ankles (boy, can the feet swell), we were laying on the couch with the feet up one night this week and baby was dancing around. Mommy called daddy over to feel the movement and baby stopped as soon as he touched mommy's tummy. Daddy walked away and baby started kicking again. Daddy came over to try to feel the movement and baby stopped... and so the pattern continued. Aunt LouAnne's theory is that baby is so calmed by daddy that baby will sleep whenever daddy is on watch. That'll be mommy's luck, right?

On April 2nd, we will be going to an at-risk perinatal clinic for a follow-up ultrasound. During the big ultrasound on March 7th, we were not able to see everything we needed to due to baby's positioning and lower tech equipment. We can't wait to make sure baby's heart is fully functioning, lips, palate, and nose are completely formed (for the speech pathologist in mommy), and that all the parts are as they should be. We'll have some better pictures to share after that appointment.

Mommy and daddy went to visit friends in the hospital this week who gave birth to their 1st baby girl last Wednesday. Baby Jordyn was born without a heartbeat and fought back. She went 18 minutes without a heartbeat and continues to fight everyday for her little life. The experience of being with that beautiful little baby girl, really brought home the blessing it is to have Baby Stone dancing and swinging in mommy's tummy and it also stirs up a strong amount of love for this little person we have not even met yet. We can't wait to meet our little sweet pea and pray for a healthy and calm delivery!

Big Hugs,

Justin and Erin
