Week 13- January 12th, 2012

This is not a picture of OUR baby but about what little one is in size. I thought the grandparent's might want to see and read about how we're progressing.

Your Very Busy Baby
Your baby is getting bigger and cuter by the day. It's honing its reflexes -- the little hands and feet respond to stimuli by bending or flexing. And the baby may stick its thumb in her mouth this week, although it's not quite ready to start sucking it. The eyes are looking more and more like your baby blues -- or browns, or greens -- but you won't see them until about the 30th week since its eyelids are fused together to protect them as they develop. Best of all, now that all of her organs and systems have formed, your risk of miscarriage drops significantly by next week (approximately 75 percent of miscarriages occur during the first trimester) so you can give those early-pregnancy nerves a rest. Courtesy of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine - AIUM.org
